Thank you for your feedback. UK Law and building regulations stipulate that anything that is going to be installed permanently outside needs to be hard wired into the electrics. This is why most pumps and filter systems don't come with a plug fitted. We can't legally give full instructions on wiring your equipment up the electrics as we're not electricians (almost all manufacturers instructions tell you to consult an electrician before installing) but there is a small part of these regulations that states that you can fit an electrical circuit yourself if it isn't wired straight into the mains - which basically means you can fit a plug yourself and use an RCD unit. We would always recommend using a junction box, RCD/circuit breaker, and never recommend using a 13 amp plug. Please speak to an electrician if you're unsure on how to fit this product safely. Thank you.

Thanks for that information. We have had outside sockets fitted ready for the pump, and we usually disconnect it in the winter. Did the information include the fact that no plug supplied?
