We can assure you that we are not a scam.

We appreciate you have held a previous policy with us but given the pre-existing conditions we have to apply exclusions as this is a new policy. The only way we could have continued covering any conditions would be to continue with the original policy.

Whilst we cannot speak for other insurers, it is likely similar exclusions would have been applied irrespective of where you sought cover.

Your comments prove my point. My premium was doubled so that, as an OAP, I couldn’t afford it. The same company then offered me a different, cheaper policy which forced me to give up my former policy which provided the cover my little dog really needs. E&L used this ploy to get out of its obligations for a longstanding lifetime cover policy. A new company wouldn’t have the same obligations, so your last comment is an obfuscation. It is a scam by E&L and you know it.

We entirely refute your assertion. There is no obligation to renew the policy nor is there an obligation to take a new policy with us. All customers have seen changes in premiums, regardless of their claim history; had you not submitted claims on your previous policy your renewal quote would have been exactly the same.

It may be worth contacting other insurers to see what exclusions they would apply given the circumstances.
