I reiterate that we are very sorry to hear of your disappointment with you holiday, in particular regarding your accommodation at Manning Park. We are aware of a change of staffing at the resort, some communication difficulties and that some of your group were allocated unrefurbished rooms. We are currently reviewing the arrangements for this holiday and be paying close attention to the standards at the Manning Park Resort. Thank you for your comments and please accept our apologies for the perceived lack of consistency. I suspect grading will always be a contentious issue. Trying to reflected the infinite complexities of the natural world with a simple grade will always leave room for misunderstandings. It is a constant topic of conversation in the office as to how we improve our system to include as many relevant factors (time walking, distance covered, altitude gained, ambient temperature, conditions underfoot, etc) as possible. we are working on this. Less than satisfactory response from Ramblers. I understand that getting consistency across the range can be difficult but I made a specific comment about this holiday ... which remains rated as D/D+. If only 1 of the walks is graded D and all the rest are D+ then this trip should more honestly be rated D+. Which is not to compare it to other holidays in different places but simply to give a true understanding of what this one offers ... it was a D+ holiday not D. To state this doesn't require Ramblers to work on it ... just change it to reflect reality.
