We are sorry to hear that you would have preferred to book your own holiday. Unfortunately, the cancellation of your return flight was beyond anyone’s control due to adverse weather conditions. In such cases, airlines typically decline claims as this falls under extraordinary circumstances, which is what happened in your case.
Even if your holiday was booked independently, the outcome regarding the return flight would have likely been the same, as airlines tend to follow strict policies regarding weather-related disruptions. The advice to reach out to your travel insurance provider is standard practice in situations like these that is why it is imperative that adequate travel insurance is taken out to cover such circumstances.

It was unfortunate that due to adverse weather conditions your flight was cancelled and we understand the disappointment any disruption to travel plans can cause. When such situations occur the airline are responsible for arranging overnight accommodation and alternative flights which is what they did.
We are sorry that you are disappointed with the lack of Customer Service offered by Channel Islands Direct on this occasion, as you have said you have sent in your complaint which we are looking into. It is our policy to thoroughly investigate any complaint we receive and we will provide a full response to you covering all the points raised.
We note your concerns about the full 28 days given to us by ABTA being taken to issue our response and sincerely regret any further dissatisfaction felt as a result of this. We assure you that we will issue our reply as quickly as possible once we receive replies from suppliers and our investigation is complete.

Very efficient and helpful staff when booking. Very helpful and knowledgeable rep came to speak to us the morning after we arrived.
