The traps will keep working for 8 weeks after activation so do keep them in place in order to monitor for the presence of moths and they will help break the breeding cycle by attracting the sexually adult young adult males. Thank you for your feedback on our Pantry Moth Traps - we appreciate you taking the time to let us know your experience. The tape that you are referring intentionally has a 'low tack' reverse so to adhere and protect the surfaces within your home. We recommend applying these traps to smooth, dust free, non porous surfaces to assist with adhesion. (Just to confirm - the glue on the side that catches moths is extremely sticky!). We're always looking for ways to improve our products and as such we'll take the time to look again at this product and speak with our manufacturer about options available to improve where needed. Dear Virginia, We'r sorry to read that your traps are not performing as you had hoped. Please do consider that only adult male Clothes & Carpet Moths will be attracted. Females, juveniles, as well as other moth types will not be attracted to Moth Traps. Also, please be sure to position your traps away from light, drafts, strong smells and at 3-6ft high. Please do leave them in position and/or move them to a new position for the duration of their shelf life - They will attract and capture adult male moths if they are passing and help you to monitor.
