Hi Andrea, I'm so sorry these didn't meet expectations. I've had a look through the reviews on Seeps own site to see if the lack of abrasion is a common complaint. https://theseepcompany.com/products/seep-natural-cellulose-sponges-with-loofah-scourer-pack-of-4?srsltid=AfmBOookF5bCiB7hrEOctc6qeb1EsMIhFuDjvAcE-0A3RkdN0H3oDGjc I think it's fair to say that it is less abrasive than normal plastic scourers, but more abrasive than a sponge or cloth. Due to the natural nature of the products you might also find that some are slightly rougher than others, so if you did buy a few it might be worth trying another one. They definitely aren't a wire wool substitute. I'm thinking I'll try and find a chain-mail cloth for this kind of work. Like these here on Etsy.
