Thanks for the feedback! You may be able to get a non-ZVOX remote working with the AV120. Many cable, satellite, and newer smart TV remotes have a ZVOX programming code or an onscreen guide that will walk you through the remote programming. If ZVOX shows up as an option in your remote's setup menu, there's a good chance you can program your TV, cable, satellite, or universal remote to control the AV120. That said, not every remote out there supports this, so results can vary depending on what you're working with. You're welcome to email us at info@zvoxaudio.com or submit a new support ticket with your preferred remote's model number, and we can determine how it can be programmed if it's possible.

Thanks for the kind words about the different AccuVoice levels, glad those have been working well for you! What you're describing is most likely the Auto Standby feature kicking in. All ZVOX speakers come with this activated by default, and it will automatically power the speaker off if it detects a weak or low audio signal, even while you're actively watching TV. Some TVs put out a quieter signal than others, which can trigger it more often. The good news is it's easy to turn off. With the speaker on and working, press and hold the power button on the ZVOX remote until you see "NoAS" on the display. That should stop it from shutting off on its own. Be sure to include your TV's make and model number and how the speaker is connected (HDMI, optical, RCA-mini, or 3.5mm headphone cable), and we're happy to dig into it further.
