The Ventair remote control kits are designed for the current Ventair 2- and 4-heat 3-in-1 bathroom models, and as noted in the product description, they require hardwiring by a licensed electrician. This is because the receiver unit must be installed to communicate with the remote via radio frequency. Older models unfortunately aren’t compatible with the new receiver technology. We do our best to make this clear by including notes on compatibility, hardwiring requirements, and by providing spec sheets and installation manuals on our website for customers to review before purchasing. However, we completely understand how easy it can be to miss these details, especially when trying to find a quick replacement remote. Regarding the shipping cost, this includes careful packaging and tracking for electrical components, but we understand your concern and will pass your feedback on to our logistics team for review.
