Dear Lucy, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the way my mortgage application was handled by Hull & Benson Alestree and Ashley Adams Mortgages. My mortgage application was ultimately declined by the bank, but throughout the process I received very little communication or support. After Daniel left the company, nobody informed me that he was no longer handling my case. I repeatedly contacted Hull & Benson Alestree to get updates on my application, for which I had paid £800, but there was never anyone available to assist me. I was then referred to Ashley Adams, but unfortunately the level of service did not improve. I called multiple times each day and was repeatedly told that someone would contact me, yet nobody did. Due to the lack of information, I contacted the bank directly and was informed that my application had been declined. However, they were unable to provide me with the reason. I then contacted Hull & Benson again to find out why the application had been declined, but once more I was told that someone would contact me, and again nobody did. Eventually, someone from Ashley Adams called me and suggested that I should contact the bank myself to obtain the reason for the decline. Unfortunately, I was unable to do this as I did not have access to the relevant email correspondence. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by both Hull & Benson Alestree and Ashley Adams Mortgages. The lack of communication, support, and case management caused unnecessary stress, wasted a significant amount of my time, and resulted in me paying £800 for a service that did not meet reasonable expectations. What makes this even more frustrating is that I was able to arrange a new mortgage through another adviser, and the entire process was completed within four days. This highlights how poorly my original application was managed. At the very least, I believe I should have been informed when Daniel left the company so that appropriate arrangements could have been made for my case
