Dear Mr Fulton, We regret to read your one-star review and to hear of the issues you encountered along the trail following the heavy rain. We understand a month’s worth of rain fell in 24 hours a day prior to your arrival. As a self-guided holiday, the onus is on yourself to make the decision to reach out to us for support or not. We advise our clients in the holiday pack to check the official websites for their trails (especially National Trails like the Thames Path) for any published route diversions or updates to help avoid delays on the walk. We provide links to useful websites to help with making your holiday go as smoothly as possible. However, we recognise that sudden and adverse weather conditions can make for unforeseeable obstacles on holidays like ours. Therefore, we make it clear to all our hikers that we have our office at hand to help if you need any advice or assistance while hiking (or our Out-of-Hours emergency service if our office is closed). We cannot see any record of you contacting our office or out-of-hours service during your holiday, which is a shame as we would have gladly assisted you with helping find a safe alternative following these sudden and adverse weather conditions. The flooding you experienced along the Thames Path during your holiday was indeed very unfortunate and we are sorry to read that it negatively impacted your holiday. We hope you were able to travel between each accommodation safely and responsibly.
