Thank you for your review. When you purchased via MoneySupermarket they asked you 'Do any of these travellers have a pre-existing medical condition?' They provided the following guidance ' We need to know about any condition, even a minor one, that you’ve seen a doctor about in the past 2 years. We need to know about any serious illness you’ve ever had. Examples include, strokes, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes and anxiety. We need to know about any condition that you’re currently awaiting test results for, or that you’re waiting for treatment or an operation on. It may not always cost more to cover your medical conditions. The insurer may not pay any claims you make in full if you fail to declare all relevant conditions.' You answered 'No' to this question in error, providing an inaccurate medical declaration at the point of purchase. After you purchased we reminded you of what you'd need to declare and that it may invalidate your claim if you don't make an accurate declaration. When you let us know that you had failed to declare your pre-existing medical conditions we provided you a quote to pay the additional premium due for the additional risk of your pre-existing medical condition history, this was the difference between what you did pay and what you would have paid if you'd provided accurate information at the point of purchase. There was no bait and switch or underhand tactics. We note that you've cancelled your policy and have presumably repurchased with another provider. The same requirement to declare this condition applies to any policy sold via MoneySupermarket, so it is important that you accurately answer the questions on their site accurately as failing to do so may leave any policy you obtain from another provider invalid.
