Regarding maps to find hotels, we are surprised to hear you had trouble finding the hotels as most clients tend to find them quite helpful but we are constantly updating and improving our content so we'll keep your comments in mind. In relation to rural accommodation, the procedure in place is to call the country cottage for a free pick up and they would also drop you back at the trail the following morning. Unfortunately, accommodation options in Sahagún are quite limited, as you might have realised it is a pretty small town, so La Codorniz is the best available option. In relation to luggage labels, they tend to wear on a long trip but if they get to a stage where they can't be used, our transporters are instructed to replace them, so no need to worry. We find John Brierley's guidebook to be the best in the market (in English) for the Portuguese Way. The walking notes we send depend on each section: some sections are better covered by the walking notes, while others are better explained in the guidebook. Between Lisbon and Porto markings can be a bit scarce so we find the guidebook to be better suited for this particular trip. We are disappointed to hear some of the accommodation didn't live up to your expectations. The inclusion of wine with dinners is completely at the discretion of the hotel. We are very surprised you didn't enjoy your stay at A Parada das Bestas as it is an award-winning and very sought-after casa rural, with many food and hospitality accolades. We are sorry to hear about the the mix up with the hotel contact details/information and have amended this. For this type of situation we have a 24/7 support number so the team in Dublin is always available to help. The hotels we use for our standard Camino packages are generally small family-run accommodations which are clean, comfortable and friendly. However, we also have a Superior Collection for the French Way which includes hotel upgrades where available.
