We are really sorry that you had issues with building your planter. It doesn't sound like it went to plan at all. In the instructions we do mention that it works best to put the dowels in the first row before you start and that the key to building anything is to have a good solid base to start on. I wish you had gotten in touch with us on the freephone number on the instructions to let us know these issues at the time of building as we can always help and make sure beds go together well if people get in touch and we have never had any problems once people have done this. Sorry again and sad you won't be recommending us. WoodBlocX
