Little things mean a lot

Great place but small issues detracted--faulty pool umbrella , non working coffee pot, sparse info about the surrounding area

Dear Victor, thank you for your feedback.

We are considering to remove the umbrella for next season as the area is a little bit windy sometimes and unfortunately customers staying at the villa do not close it during those days. As a result we keep finding it broken when check-out, which is very difficult to repair it when the next customers (as you) will be checking-in the same day.

I've just asked the client currently staying at the villa to make sure of the coffee pot which seems to be working. We'll also ask the property owner to provide local info through an in-villa booklet. Hope you enjoyed your stay overall and will consider Wish Sicily again in the future.

Dear Derek,

thank you for your feedback and time.

We do manage more than 100 villas all around Sicily and off shore islands, and sometime is a little bit complicated to stop by every single villa, especially in high season, even to say hello. As a matter of fact we receive a very efficient cooperation from our property owners. However at Villa Deodata, Carmelina, the property owner, IS actually our rep as she is Australian English speaking mother-tongue and perfectly knows the area of Cefalù.

Indeed I’m very disappointed to hear that she hasn’t provided local information and will pass your comments over to her. However I have to point out that there must be an in-villa local info booklet available.Hope you enjoyed your holiday in Sicily and the villa overall.

There was plenty of printed information but what was lacking was personal involvement at the start of the holiday especially since the wish Sicily rep said he would help.

Dear Lynne,

We’re really disappointed that you didn’t find the property up to scratch but are glad you appreciated our service and enjoyed the villa overall. We have passed on your comments to the owner of Villa Orca with our own recommendations to provide a welcome hamper included to all guests, and we apologise for the disservice received when need to change the beds yourselves after the first week stay. I think this is unacceptable and we have complained about it with the property owner. As a result we are going to take the villa off our portfolio for the next season.

We are still investigating about the pool filter as it seems like you haven't reported during your stay.

We thank you for mentioning the good job made by the local manager Carmen. Hopefully, you will consider exploring more of Sicily in one of our other villas at another time. Thanks again for your time.

We didn't report the filter because the pool guys were aware of the problem. They actually tried to repair it the day before we left but were unsuccessful. The hamper was a big issue with us as we arrived late at night and were not even able to have a coffee until we went shopping the next day. As I stated, the property was comfortable with fantastic views which we enjoyed enormously but the other things spoilt what would otherwise would have been a lovely holiday

Customer service is very important to us and we are very disappointed about the welcome hamper which was not delivered as advertises by the property owner. As a matter of fact, we have already removed the villa from our portfolio.

Lovely holiday — but the booking experience was far from perfect.

I just didn't really like the experience! (nothing to do with the villa, which was amazing). I wanted to pay for my holiday by credit card, to give me some protection and the only payment methods...

thanks for your comments.

We provide both payment methods (PayPal and credit cards) I'm sorry if you find some information about payment methods misleading. However it's very clearly stated on the villa webpage, general terms and payment request email. I'm afraid TransferWise is not as secure as bank transfer, Paypal and credit card suggested.

Regarding the messaging system, would you please so kind to specify what kind of difficulties you had? It always works very fine as it manages hundreds of emails during the week. Your comment may help to improve the system of course.

Thanks for your comments.

We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall. Those are actually Majolica tiles from the '700 and obviously we won't replace them as it is a beautiful characteristic of the kitchen... Not very easy to find them in modern villas, nowadays.

We are sorry for the barking dogs. Although this issue is highlighted in the property description on the website, we're struggling to sort this out permanently.

Hopefully, you will consider exploring more of Sicily in one of our other villas at another time. Thanks again for your time.
