That this tour was a disappointment to Che is of great concern to us but it has taken over 8 weeks since his return for him to communicate such dissatisfaction with us and now that he has, we have been in touch with each other to understand his concerns.Russia is a vast country and in order to cover the battles associated with Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk it necessarily means that there is much travel which is vulnerable to delay and thus time spent at each location has to be proportionately limited during a 10 day tour. However had Che notified us when he booked this tour (or even at any time prior to its departure) that a visit to Kubinka was his sole objective, then we would have recommended that he extend his tour by an extra day and organised him a special visit, as for the dedicated tank enthusiast there is indeed much to see. That being said Kubinka Tank Museum is presently relocating many of its exhibits to sites closer to the centre of Moscow, which was one of the reasons for the one-hour delay that was experienced on the day we visited. We freely admit that some lunches were taken late and make no apology for this as flexibility of itinerary is essential otherwise we would be curtailing important visits simply to make a lunch appointment which would make the tour seem even more rushed. The number of clients on the tour has been exaggerated - there were 22, not 30 as stated in the review. We have shared Che’s comments with Bob Kershaw, our expert guide, who was extremely surprised by them – indeed Bob remembers him stating to him that he was on the trip of a life-time, thoroughly enjoying himself and even enthusiastically offered to build Bob a model tank!Che’s comments do not reflect of the experience of other participants of the tour as independently expressed elsewhere on Feefo, but we do accept that there are areas in which we can and will improve this tour.
