Gemstones that are high up on the Moh's scale will require lots of patience to drill through (the harder the stone, the longer they will take to drill) we recommend drilling on the slowest speed your rotary drill will go to (5,000 rpm if possible) with plenty of cold water (changing if the water goes cloudy) and very little pressure.
