We fully understand the loss of a loved one is an extremely sensitive time for the families we are privileged to serve. We strive to provide the best service possible at all times and I'm sorry to hear that, on this occasion, our service fell short of our usually high standards.

I passed your comments back to our Senior Funeral Director for further investigation. The colleague in question has undertaken some retraining, particularly around the terminology that we use with our client so as not to cause unnecessary upset.

My colleagues have looked in the points you raised. I can only apologise on behalf of our funeral director, who was unaware that the family wished to act as pall bearers.

We have links with many local celebrants in the area, some of which are retired clergy. I hope this clarifies why you were put in touch with a vicar.
