I am sorry to see the damage to the boot. The outer material is made from neoprene and we do recommend using over reach boots to protect both the horse and the Medical Hoof Boot from damage. We find the Medical Hoof Boots are predominately used on horses that have been stabled usually down to having a foot abscess. So when the horse is turned out they are more likely to run and jump around which can lead to the boots being damaged if not protected by an overreach boot.
Very helpful staff, I ordered a racesafe provent body protector however it wasn't going to arrive by the time I needed it, I contacted Amira equi and they were able to send me the racesafe motion3...
Highly recommended. Ordered one evening, Amira Equi posted the next day , received the following day . Excellent service.

No communication from the merchant after the initial order until a day before the package was scheduled to arrive. I would have liked more notice.
