Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you feel this way. I think you have misinterpreted our T&C's confirmation email. This gave you the opportunity to cancel the order after we confirmed the delivery time and BEFORE we took any payment. You accepted the lead time when you confirmed the T&C's and this is why we email customers to advise them in case it was missed on the product page. All Fermob items are available in a multitude of colours - hence their availability status - they are then made up in the chosen colour to order. We will examine the wording of our email again but I think if you check it again you will find it clear. I'm sorry if you found if 'officious' but not sure what you mean as we have to balance wording. We do want customers to be clear about their options.

I ordered a shelf from you - having read on your website that the item I ordered was in stock.
Please advise what it is that you believe I have not understood.
You wrote to me on 9th April after receiving my order:
Please note that some of our furniture not currently in our warehouse is considered ‘made to order’ with a typical lead time of around 6 weeks. Your order should be available for shipping from approximately mid May. We will contact you again nearer that time to arrange delivery at time convenient for you. However if this is a real problem for you, please let us know.
So having received my order you tell me that the - in stock on your website - has become - not currently in our warehouse and therefore my shelf is considered - made to order. An early April order MAY be delivered from approximately mid - May.
You then tell me that if I do mot want to proceed with the order I will still have to pay 50% of the order price - so realistically there is no choice. It is not an option to cancel the order, with that penalty.
My in stock item had become - made to order - and MAY get to me sometime in the next month.
You wrote :
IMPORTANT: if you decide to cancel your made to order item for any reason, it is unlikely that we could sell it to another customer at full selling price and we therefore charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the order price. Our usual refund policy does not apply to made to order items, which cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are faulty. Please note that this does not, in any way, affect your statutory rights when goods are faulty or not as described.
Customers have to accept the T&Cs as there is, realistically, no choice. By this stage you have to proceed, given the 50% penalty, and there will be a delay to your order if you do not accept the T&Cs. As I said in my review - customers are painted into a corner.

I would be grateful therefore if you could reply to this email, confirming that you have understood these conditions. If we do not hear back from you, this may delay the further processing of your order.
My momey was taken in full by you on 11th April.
The timing of the shelf was not significant for me, but I was asked for feedback so I flagged up my concerns about how the status of my item changed. Some customers may order items thst are time sensitive and they need to know that what they think is in stock may not be and may be classed as made to order, so they then will need to accept whaever you say, as there is a 50% cancellation penalty. This process does not allow people to cancel.

Thanks for your further clarification and I see your confusion. I will look at the wording further but just for clarification - You only face a cancellation charge AFTER you have accepted the T&C's and have understood the delivery lead time. If you didn't want to proceed or accept the T&C's then there is no cancellation charge and no money is taken. One of the reasons we right the email in this way is so that we can understand IF there are any timing issues and to ensure that the customer has seen our availability prediction. Every customer who orders Fermob items from us that are made to order gets the same email and will always deal with any questions that arise from it. I'm sorry if you felt 'painted into a corner' but hopefully you can see that this wasn't the case. No charges are made (and no order placed on the factory) until T&C's have been accepted and lead times understood. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to explain further.

Just to add that we have checked the wording and feel that it is understood by the vast majority of our customers.
Not the most rapid service but quick to respond when I checked up on the order. Friendly correspondence!

Thank you for your feedback. We do try to keep up with orders and normally they are despatched within 1-2 working days of receipt. I can see you ordered just before the Bank Holiday Monday and it is likely there was a bit of a backlog so this took another 2 days to leave us. Please accept our apologies for this and glad that you and your gift recipient liked the product.

Thank you for your feedback. It's an heirloom piece for sure and obviously important to have a beautiful spray when it is so dry! Try and rinse it every now and then to make sure leaves etc are not clogging up the rose.
Thanks for your feedback and apologies for the delayed response, but we were out of stock for a while and wanted to check your comments.
The lid is deliberately tight to prevent odours escaping. I presume thats is what is meant by 'sticks'?
With regards to the handle getting stained I presume this is when adding fresh items to the bucket? I think if you wipe up any spillage after use then there should be no stains and personally I think a wooden handle is preferable to plastic. Either way thank you for your product feedback, it is appreciated.
