We are sorry you were not able to travel on an earlier sailing which was due to a temporary reduction in vehicle capacity whilst the upper linkspan surfaces were treated with anti-slip paint before the worst of the winter weather. Whilst pre-booked customers for each sailing were unaffected there wasn't space on some sailings to upload all stand-by customers.
Unfortunately it wasn't possible to widely pre-advertise the capacity change as the decision to go ahead was based on a 24hr weather window - the time needed for the new coating to cure. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
