Thanks for taking the time to provide your thoughts Kalie, glad to hear you had an enjoyable trip overall and you found the electronic maps helpful. Your package was a pre-arranged itinerary which was organised some 18 months prior to your arrival, it featured dorm beds at the stunning location of Refuge Mottets and a private room at the Auberge LaVachey (2nd refuge evening). We list the accommodation and rooming on your invoice and itinerary documents at the time of booking, this is also sent a few times prior to arrival, and are available via the 'online' client access forum alongside. We specifically choose locations with road access should clients wish to include the overnight bag service. Sorry to hear you had a challenging descent, thunderstorms do sometimes occur in the Alps, with the build up of heat, glad to hear you arrived safely. Your detailed pre arrival literature included waterproof map and daily route cards (and much more), alternative route information is provided on each daily route card, together with additional information and also transport options. When the weather turns, the pre arrival literature contents together with the pre-requisite tools for self guiding :- previous hiking experience, compass and altimeter are all tools which assist in navigating safely.
