The conveyancer who handled my case, Leigh Elliott, was rude, dismissive and unhelpful. My experience with Shulmans was awful. Eventually another conveyancer, Scott Dickinson took over the case and he handled it in the way it should have been handled from the start. I don’t think Countrywide should be recommending this firm to their customers as the overall service was very poor and this reflects on them as a company.

Great service by local agent (Totton branch) spoiled slightly by being chased twice by central credit control team for fee invoice which had already been paid by solicitor.

The score could not be 5/5 due to your recommendation to use Countrywide as solicitors. They were truly awful, a call centre in Cardiff that you could not call or ever get through to anyone. They provided an online tracker that bore no resemblance to the status of the sale and even that didn't work for the first 2 months. No one was pro active - we waited 5 weeks for simple queries to be returned only to find out that you hadn't even rung the other solicitors to find out what was going on. I had considered changing solicitors half way through the process and now I wish that I had - you added weeks to my sale unnecessarily and we ended up chasing other parties for information to ensure the chain did not collapse. We made it by the skin of our teeth just a few days before the sale collapsed. If I had the energy left after the stress you put us through I would be taking action to recoup a good proportion of the fee that you charged, however I am too tired to do so.
