and we always appreciate constructive feedback. We do keep our diving days very flexible, and while we can implement a more scheduled approach to certain dive sites and special trips during busier weeks, the drop in business we unexpectedly suffered recently and the strong winds we had during your week meant we had to be more reactive than usual. That said, with regards to Elphinstone, Coraya Divers operate that differently to us. They fix a day for the trip and ignore weather forecasts, which means that a high number of their trips do not make it to Elphinstone at all. The day you are referring to, they actually diverted to Marsa Shouna - one of the closest dive sites we have, as the wind (and forecast) was appalling which would make Elphinstone unsafe. We prefer to be more realistic and use wind forecasts to help us make the decision, as we have been daily boat diving Elphinstone for over 10 years. This way we don't get guests onto our boat under the guise of going somewhere we will never realistically get to, especially when Elphinstone is an early start trip. We did run Elphinstone on the Tuesday before you departed and sent a letter to the reception of your hotel offering you a spot on that, but we did not hear back from you. If you did not receive the letter I sympathise with that and would appreciate if you could inform me so I can chase up with the hotel. Regarding expense, we certainly stack up when compared to the other local operators when comparing boat diving prices for example. We do offer discounts for pre-booking and I would welcome you to contact me before your next trip so I can help you build a great value package. we're glad that overall you found the experience positive and enjoyed the course. I sympathise that you found it to work out more expensive than you initially thought, and I apologise if you felt we could have done more here. We do try to be open and honest about prices in all our literature, price lists, websites, emails and such but sometimes when these things are discussed in resort, at welcome meetings like yours was, the amount of information given verbally can leave gaps in what was spoken and what was taken on board. I would be very happy if you were to come back to Marsa to complete to Open Water and beyond, and invite you to email me about that on the address below so I can make sure that you are given full information beforehand about costs.
