Across the Irish Insurance Industry, premiums have risen due to a number of factors. A sustained increase in the number of personal injury claims, higher court awards, and the collapse of Setanta Insurance, have all contributed to this.

At AXA we are dedicated to keeping our expenses down, using cost effective vehicle repairers and fighting fraud. However, personal injury claims are very high, and despite our on-going efforts to minimise cost, all premiums have gone up this year.

Hi Amanda,

Unfortunately I was unable to reach you by phone.  I am sorry if you felt that our staff member's manner was overly abrupt.  We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and poor service has no excuse.  Your policy was not actually cancelled and you would indeed have been covered if there was an accident.  Michael had stopped the direct debit from automatically renewing, but left the policy in force while awaiting instruction to cancel or renew.

I will pass your feedback on to our customer services team.
