Good, but VERY expensive.

The process was quick and easy and my point of contact (Oliver Golding) was brilliant. But at 1.75% of loan value, the broker fee is very expensive. Particularly when added to the lenders 1%...

We pride ourselves on our expertise, speed and overall premium service, so I'm delighted this was reflected in your experience. Just to clarify, our broker fee on this case was 1% and we feel is indicative of the arena in which we operate, and also the service our entire team pride themselves on providing. The lender charged you 1.5% as their arrangement fee, which is sadly an unavoidable cost which is reflective of the wider specialist lending market as well. We really do encourage all borrowers to discuss fees with us early in the process as we always want to ensure everyone is comfortable throughout the lifecycle of a loan application. Since posting my initial review, I've had a chat with Vantage and I'm happy to correct a couple of details. The fee paid directly to Vantage (by me) was in fact 1.0% of the gross loan, NOT 1.75% as I had initially indicated above. The LENDER also paid Vantage 1.75% of the gross loan. To be fair to Vantage, I was fully aware of all fees that were attached to my loan and I am in no way suggesting that any of those fees were a surprise to me - they weren't! To re-iterate, my POC Oliver Golding was excellent throughout the process and I will not hesitate to use him (and Vantage) again. The overall fees paid to the brokers were... healthy(!), but I new that before the fact!
