These don't continue to produce heat for half an hour. I would say, rather, that they become warm, and may remain warmish for up to 20 mins.

A fascinating toy! We purchased two and my son has been enjoying learning how it works with extra balls and magnets. He has also set up opposing barricades with friends and had fun little 'wars'
