The parcel was delivered earlier than expected to the recipient's address (different from the order one), but was intercepted by the recipient's wife and kept secret until the day of his birthday.

I am sorry you were disappointed. We did test the pseudoscope kit ourselves, prior to offering it for sale, and Tim Rowett (the guy in the videos) built one himself which worked.
We used to sell a precision optical pseudoscope, but these cost nearly £1,000, and it was really only universities that could afford them. There is currently a company in Europe selling Reversing Goggles at around 700 Euros, which is a lot of money. So both these kits are trying to give people a reasonable optical experience, but for a lot less money.
We do try and make clear the level of work that is involved in constructing our kits, and certainly the pseudoscope kit does take a few hours. I will have another look at the description on our web site, to check if we need to stress that fact.

I still believe that for a precision optical device, it should be constructed of a sturdier material as the room for error is too great.
