We have reviewed internally. Your initial policy, purchased online, was a “Long Stay” policy. This policy is designed for long term trips abroad e.g. backpacking and charged at a monthly rate, rather than the 11-day trip you were looking to take.
On Long Stay policies, the option to add activities is not available. The only activities available are those that are included as standard on the policy. Once you select your level of cover, there is a “Wording” button available, the policy wording contains all the terms and conditions of the policy and therefore includes a list of included sports and activities.
You called our customer services team to check your policy, and they identified your policy was not suitable and rectified this by cancelling your original policy and providing you with the appropriate cover for your trip, which was significantly cheaper than the policy you had bought online.
Your refund was processed on 2nd February at 15:34. Please allow 3–5 working days for the full amount to appear in your account. This timeframe is governed by your bank and not us. It works the same when you pay for something, although you may see it leaving your account instantly, it doesn't necessarily appear in ours until several working days later.
