I tend not to purchase food or drinks during my time on the ferry because they are too dear. The ticket office should be open earlier especially at weekends. I was unable to purchase a ferry/train ticket last time I travelled as a foot passenger from East Cowes.
Seating area, with tables for food, tends to be cold. 9:00am crossing from Southampton - Sunday 24th November particularly bad. Perhaps lower doors are left open causing through draught.
