In order to set up the phone, you will need to connect the main base unit/answering system to the mains socket and the landline socket and to install the batteries into the cordless handsets and the phone should be ready to make and receive calls. All Panasonic landline phones, need to be connected into a socket on your internet router labeled/designated as Telephone, in order for them to work. Aso, if your landline connection is VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol), then the phones might have trouble working, however, depending on the type of router, the internet provider might need to supply you with an adapter so that the phone could connect to it.
