By way of explanation, the higher price per metre is to account for the work involved in unrolling, cutting, and re-rolling the mesh, which is a manual and time consuming job for our cutting room. However, you make a valid point regarding orders of 3+ metres (as the same work is involved in cutting a 3m piece as a 1m piece, but for a more valuable order). I'm sorry that we didn't have the 90cm wide rolls available, as per your previous order, however due to global supply issues there is currently a shortage of this roll width in the mesh specification you have ordered. However, we are expecting new stock of 90cm wide rolls to arrive on a container due at the end of this month. In terms of the price increase since your last order, I appreciate that this is frustrating. Unfortunately, the costs of all manufactured goods have increased over the last few months. Although there are a number of factors involved in the cost increases, the reasons largely come down to the unprecedented increase in shipping costs, a reduction in worldwide manufacturing capacity, large increases in the costs of raw materials, and a huge surge in consumer demand. By way of example, the costs of shipping have more than quadrupled during the course of the pandemic. In addition, the cost of courier delivery services have also increased significantly in recent weeks, largely due to the shortage of drivers as reported in the media.
