Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We completely appreciate your comments regarding the importance of knowing the cost of your heating oil, particularly when household budgets are under pressure. The Pannanich Oil Club operates slightly differently from an individual heating oil order. The club is very well managed by the coordinator, who gathers the individual orders together before submitting the complete group order to Johnston Oils. One of the benefits of ordering collectively is that we can price the order based on the total volume required by the group. However, this does mean that we cannot confirm the final price until all orders have been gathered and we know the total number of litres we need to purchase and allocate to the club. Once the total volume is confirmed, we provide the coordinator with the group price and once agreed, that price is locked in for the club. Importantly, the price customers pay is not based on the market price on the individual day their delivery takes place. The agreed Oil Club price is held regardless of when each delivery is subsequently completed within the agreed delivery timeframe. We then process the individual orders and send an order confirmation to each customer detailing the agreed price, delivery address and expected delivery timeframe. We are sorry if you did not receive this confirmation on this occasion, and we will certainly look into why that happened. We also appreciate your comments regarding minimum order quantities when heating oil prices are particularly high. We recognise the financial pressure that periods of higher energy costs can place on households and feedback such as this is valuable when we review how we can best support our customers. We greatly value the Pannanich Oil Club and the work the coordinator does coordinating on behalf of its members. We hope the above provides some reassurance around how the club pricing process works and most importantly, confirms that the price is agreed and secured for the group rather than being determined by the eventual delivery date. Thank you again for your feedback and for giving us the opportunity to explain the process.
