Thank you for taking the time to leave a review though I was very sorry to learn of your disappointment in the accommodation choices and food on the tour, especially as we appreciate these are two of the of the most important factors in the the eventual enjoyment (or otherwise) of a holiday. However, I thank you for bringing this to our attention as it helps us enormously in our planning for next year. I am quite aware, that for circumstances unfortunately beyond our control, there were indeed issues with two of the evening meals on this tour. In particular, I am aware that guests were unhappy with the meal on the first evening in Siracusa and the first evening in Marsala and in Siracusa, we have made the decision to change the restaurant for next year. In Marsala, we heard immediately from the guide that the meal was not good and telephoned the chef the following morning. My understanding is that the second evening meal was of quite a different order to the previous evening and highly appreciated by the group. We expend great efforts (and budget) to ensure everyone's maximum enjoyment of Sicily's usually excellent cuisine and I am very sorry if, however, your disappointment extended beyond these two meals. I am also very sorry that we failed to impress you with our choice of accommodation. You don't go into details, so I am unsure as to exactly the source of your disappointment, however, as made clear on our website, we go out of our way to chose authentic Sicilian accommodation and avoid multinational chains of hotels. As you will appreciate, most accommodation in Sicily is in refurbished antique buildings rather than purpose-built modern hotels and this can add immensely to the charm, but also perhaps to the inconvenience. Choice of accommodation is always a compromise between a multiplicity of factors including some that are not always visible: availability, journey time, access for the mini-bus etc etc (though I can assure you, never on cost) but this is part of the nature (and we think, also enjoyment) of travelling in Sicily. Most of our travellers enjoy our selection, and I can only apologise if you felt the accommodation had been oversold on this occasion. I was delighted however to learn that you thought the tour was overall good value and that you enjoyed the programme. It was certainly an honour having the pleasure of your company on the tour and we very much hope that you will chose to travel with us again in the future.
