Sorry for any frustration the remote setup may have caused.
The good news is that the AV835 works great with your TV remote, as long as your TV has HDMI ARC or eARC built in. The vast majority of TVs made in the last 10 years have this feature.When you connect the AV835 to your TV's HDMI ARC or eARC port, your TV remote and any other remote you have will all control the ZVOX, and the speaker will power on and off with the TV so you don't have to juggle two remotes. The way this works is that the TV passes the remote commands along to the ZVOX over the HDMI ARC connection. It is all handled by a technology called CEC (consumer electronics control).
For the most part this is plug and play, so it will just start working as soon as you connect the speaker. If it doesn't work right away, it is usually just a setting on the TV, and we are happy to help you track it down. Just submit a new support ticket or email us at info@zvoxaudio.com and include the make and model number of your TV, and we will get right back to you.

Sorry to hear the AV835 isn't performing the way you expected. AccuVoice makes a big difference when it is set up right, and a few common things can hold it back, so it is usually an easy fix.
A couple of quick things to check: make sure your TV's internal speakers are turned off so you are only hearing the ZVOX, and make sure you are actually on an AccuVoice setting and not one of the Surround modes. You can also try holding down the AccuVoice button to turn on SuperVoice for even more dialogue clarity, and fine tuning the bass and treble can help dial it in for your room.
