Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I’m so pleased to hear that you had a good trip overall and that you particularly enjoyed your time at Lewa. However, it does sound as if you had some bad luck along the way, especially with the power outages at JKIA (the airport is normally not quite that chaotic!) and the screaming children at Hemingways. If I may respond to your various points… The requirement for a visa was reflected in your Confirmation Documents, both in the letter and at the back of the itinerary. The same information was then reiterated in your Final Documents, which were sent well in advance of departure to allow plenty of time for visas to be issued ahead of travel. I’ve spoken to Sophie and I understand that she assisted you with your visa application back in September, working over the weekend to ensure that you and your family had the documentation that you needed and also offering to complete the application on your behalf. Getting through JKIA on arrival can often be a slow process, as can the journey to Wilson through the heavy Nairobi traffic. We prefer therefore to err on the side of caution rather than risk our clients missing their onward domestic flights. Even with this cautious approach, there is rarely if ever enough time to stop off on the way. Nor is there any facility for pre-booking breakfast, although I do hope you managed to grab a coffee and something to eat at the café located in the Departures Terminal at Wilson. I can only apologise that you were not met at Malindi Airport. The airline failed, inexcusably, to advise our team on the ground of your early arrival. Hemingways has sadly lost a little of its edge over the past few years, but I understand that Sophie discussed this with you at some length when you first enquired about returning there. However, we will feed your comments back to the hotel and ensure future clients’ expectations are managed accordingly should they want to stay there. The rooms at Ocean Sports are more geared towards the local market, but it is certainly a great spot for lunch or a drink. In all honesty, there are very few good options now in Watamu, so we tend to steer clients more in the direction of Diani Beach. However, the resorts here need to be booked well in advance and are much more expensive. A car had been arranged to take you from Four Points to JKIA on departure, but it appears that the hotel unfortunately dropped the ball here, as they did with the rooming arrangement and key cards. We are in contact with them about these issues and we will, of course, reimburse you for the missed transfer. Finally, I’m so pleased that you have been reunited with your luggage! We would have been more than happy to help on this front, but I don’t think we knew anything about it until Sophie contacted you about your trip a few days after your return?
