I'm sorry that you feel the level of accommodation did not reflect the price that you guys paid for the program. The Cambodia Program works out at about £68 per day. This costs includes all accommodation and 3 meals per day throughout the program. It also includes clean drinking water, transport to and from the project locations each day and transport between the different project locations accross the country. It includes airport transfers and all project materials and also covers our well managed team who are on site to take care of our volunteers 24 hours per day as well as us offering 24 hour support from the UK. I think that when you break it down like this, it is good value for money :)

The house in Siem Reap does not offer air conditioning and the reason for this is that the power companies in Cambodia fluxuate their prices so much, it would be impossible for us to work out the cost of this and include it in the program cost. I appreciate that the heat can take some getting used to but having lived and volunteered in Cambodia myself, i feel that it's all part of the volunteering experience. The house itself is comfortable in terms of liviging conditions but it can get pretty hot. It is stated in the information we send out upon booking that accommodation does not have air conditioning but that we offer fans instead to help our volunteers keep cool at night.

I hope that his has helped to address some of the points you made and i'm so pleased that your son went to Cambodia with us. It is a truly special part of the world. I know that i lost my heart to Cambodia a long time ago.

Thank you for the feedback Cara, I am so glad you felt reassured and informed throughout your daughters trip. It is what we aim to do as we know how nerve-racking it can be when they first fly off on their own. 

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. It’s so helpful for us, of course getting lovely feedback is wonderful but it’s also hugely helpful to hear points we can improve on. 

The price of our program covers much more than just the accommodation and works out at £53 a day and when you consider that this covers the UK and in-country support, accommodation, 3 meals per day, project materials needed to carry out the volunteer activities, transport within country, the boat trip around multiple islands, airport transfers and clean drinking water, I think it is priced quite fairly. Another added service we provide is to put together a team so that all volunteers travel with other like-minded volunteers the same age and this takes time and a lot of effort on our part in terms marketing. 

It is something we review regularly and ensure that the accommodation is up to standard but this is why the accommodation is basic so that we can also provide everything else included in the program. 

I’m pleased that overall you felt we did our job professionally and to a high standard and I hope that my response is slightly helpful in terms of understanding some of the things we do behind the scenes. Thanks so much for choosing The Leap and for taking the time to write a review 

Thank you for the feedback, it's great to hear that your daughter enjoyed her time in Tanzania and took away lots from the experience. We really appreciate her giving up her time to help the projects in Tanzania and so glad that we could facilitate her experience. I will definitely pass this on to our in-country staff. Mathias and his team certainly do a fantastic job on the ground leading the groups.
