As part of our standard warranty process and to ensure we can properly claim back from our manufacturers, we do require the battery to be returned for testing first. Many roadside recovery services and quick diagnostic tools will flag a flat battery as 'failed' or 'replace' right away, when in reality, the battery itself may just be discharged. Often, issues like a failing alternator, a parasitic electrical drain, or purely short, stop-start local journeys cause a healthy battery to go flat. Even when using a local over-the-counter supplier, standard industry practice requires that a flat battery must first be fully charged before it can be accurately tested, as testing a discharged battery will almost always read as faulty. In most cases, recharging the battery fully is all that is needed to bring it back to life, provided the underlying vehicle drain is resolved.
