Quick and easy

A quick and easy process. Especially as I live in London and can travel to the London laboratory. Results were back within 24 hours.

Our test can detect cortisol between 1.5 and 1,700 nmol/L. There are other kits available that can return results at levels below 1.5, however the potential error in the result is greater. All laboratory results have an error range. The error range will suggest how much the actual result can vary from the number given.

The smaller the error range, the closer the number given will be to the actual result and therefore the more reliable the result. So an error range of 10% will likely have more variation to the actual result than an error range of 5%.

At a level of 1.7 nmol/L our test has an error range of 7%. One of the most widely used alternative kits has a greater error range of 11% at 1.7nmol/L , and this error range will increase as the level gets closer to a value of 0.33 nmol/L, meaning that the result gets increasingly less reliable as lower values are returned.

So whilst our results might show a smaller range, you can be confident that the number given is closer to the actual result. The range used has been chosen to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
