We are sorry to hear that your chain tarnished so quickly. 925 Sterling Silver can tarnish if they come into contact with but not limited to: any type of perfume, aftershave, deodorant, body cream, body lotion, shower gel, chlorine or if worn in the shower or bath. Sterling Silver can also tarnish as a result of warm weather – even if kept inside a box - and body heat. We see more instances of silver tarnish during warmer weather periods possibly due to the increase in body perspiration that sterling silver comes into contact with. No two people are the same in their body chemistry and whilst one may wear silver for many years without tarnish another may find that they need to clean their silver jewellery frequently however in the cooler periods of the year the need to clean silver is often far less.
