Many thanks for the feedback Genevieve. The touring bikes are never the lightest but they are serviced regularly and technical issues are rare so I was sorry to read about your gear problem. The elevated hotels in St. Agatha and Maria Taferl both offer a pick-up service from the river bank for cyclists and this is detailed in the route information document.
