Hi Simon, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent tour to Sri Lanka with Bamboo Travel. We’re delighted to hear that you had a great time. I just wanted to offer a response to your comments regarding payment by credit card. While we do generally request that final balances are settled by bank transfer, we were happy to accept your payment by credit card for this booking and the whole booking was ultimately paid for by credit card. Our general approach is to accept card payments for deposits but request bank transfers for final balance payments so as to minimise additional costs for all of our clients. Credit card fees can be significant and we strive to offer competitive prices without having to factor in avoidable costs to everyone’s holiday. Of course, we are always open to discussion on this and, as you found, we are willing to be flexible whenever possible. We completely understand the reassurance that credit card payments can provide, but I would like to highlight that all of our holidays are already fully protected under our ATOL licence and the UK Package Travel Regulations, regardless of how payment is made. UK tour operators are some of the most regulated in the world in this regard. I also wanted to reassure you that, after some very strong years trading post covid, we are pleased to report that we are in a strong financial position. Sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding your return flight check-in details. I appreciate this caused some unnecessary concern while you were away, although I’m glad it was ultimately resolved at the airport. We will look at ways to make our e-ticket documents and instructions about check-in clearer in the future. Thank you again for your feedback.
