Dear Customer
Thank you for your feedback on our Clothes and Carpet Moth Traps.
If you are not seeing many moths on the Traps it could be for the following reasons:
1) The moth you are targeting is not one of the Moths mentioned above. You may like to view our guide on
Identifying Clothes and Carpet Moths.
Our Traps catch the following types of Moth:
•Webbing Clothes Moth, otherwise know as the Common Clothes Moth (Tineola bisselliella)
•Case Bearing Moth, otherwise know as the Case Making Moth (Tinea pellionella)
•White Shouldered House Moth (Endrosis sarcitrella)
•Brown House Moth (Hofmannophila pseudospretella)
2) As you have mentioned, it might be due to the stage in the moth life cycle which means that you are seeing more females and juveniles, but when the males mature and are sexually active they will be attracted to the powerful female pheromones on the sticky strips. The Traps can be kept in place for 12 weeks after opening.
3) Positioning of the Traps is important. They need to be 3-6 feet above carpet level. If you have any other moth deterrents placed nearby they can distract from the Traps.
If you require more information it can be found in this article
