Jonny’s Sister was started by, would you believe……Jonny’s sister! After many years abroad and in London, Jane returned to her home county of Dorset and, as she had been away for so long, was immediately known as Jonny’s sister because everyone knew Jonny! There was no particular light bulb moment or thunder bolt from heaven behind the creation of Jonny’s Sister; Jane simply wanted to set up her own business featuring lovely things that were made in England. It has come a long way since she worked in an office that closely resembled a phone box, putting on different voices as she ‘put people through to Marketing’ and bribing her kids to do the packing. Since then, they have won awards, sent products to over 27 countries, been on national TV (twice!) and have products inside royal households. Nine years on, it is bigger and even better but remains the same fun place to work at where often you will hear the laughter before you even reach the office. Everyone sits down to lunch around a big table in Jane’s farmhouse kitchen, has a day off on their birthday and is actively encouraged to get involved with all aspects of running the business. They work in the middle of the countryside, are surrounded by animals and you will be pleased to know that their office is now a bit bigger than the phone box lookalike of the early years.
