The tipping system didn’t feel voluntary when I was told the money was meant to support the staff’s families. At the end of the trip, I was given an envelope to put the money in, and in my case, I was told that $500 was the expected amount. However, I had £300 with me at the hotel, which I gave, as I didn’t have enough to meet the $500 expectation. £300 is already a significant amount, especially when the trip itself cost almost £2000, excluding flights. I would appreciate a call from the CEO to address this issue. I signed up for a group tour and would like to know if any compensation is available due to the fact that I ended up traveling alone. For future tours, I believe the company needs to ensure that women, unless they choose otherwise, are not placed in situations where they are isolated with a group of men for an entire week. To make matters worse, only one person could speak a little English, which made it incredibly difficult to communicate how I was feeling during the trip.
