Thank you for the review. Year to date, 93% of Red Funnel's vehicle ferry sailings departed within 5 minutes of the advertising sailing time but clearly we need to improve at the times you travel. Our disembarkation policy at East Cowes is to discharge priority customers from the upper deck first, followed by traffic on the main deck. This allows loading of the main deck to commence whilst the upper deck is still discharging, thereby ensuring the ship departs on time. We are investing £2m on Red Falcon this winter which will give the ship 55% more internal seats, improved WiFi and a host of other improvements - please see http://www.redfunnel.co.uk/newlook for details. In terms of fares, it pays to book as early as possible to get the best prices and to avoid the most popular sailing times if possible. Travel cards offer the cheapest option for regular customers. However, as vehicle prices are demand based it is cheaper if you can book as early as possible and avoid the most popular sailing times. We do sincerely apologise for this, unfortunately regulations prohibit the sale of Food & Beverage items if toilets are unavailable. The has been an unprecedented problem which normally would have resulted in withdrawing the ship for repairs. However, with Red Osprey in refit we were unable to do this without cancelling sailings which would have caused huge delays. We will be contacting all affected customers separately by email over the next 7 days with an offer of compensation.
