Thank you for raising the query regarding the chat service. We emailed you a week ago because we wanted you first to have the opportunity of replying or correcting anything you feel we might say that could be at odds with your perspective. We have not had a reply from you so we are posting a reply along the lines we have already shared with you as follows.
We have had a look at the chronology here and summarise that on 10th October at 13.00 hrs you raised a query regarding whether or not it was possible to insure more than one driver. We reacted to the chat enquiry some 73 minutes later but what we did not do was communicate with you via the chat mechanism that we would be sending an email to address the query raised.

This was a comprehensive response which was easier to communicate by email than via chat. We explained that (1) We can cover additional drivers (2) How to do this (3) What information you would need to have to hand (4) the likely costs on premium & excess and (5) a link to a recent article on the subject of additional drivers. Presumably this information is what you based your decision on when you purchased a track day policy some days later - with an additional driver added.

We receive enquiries via a multitude of mediums these days and priority is given to those needing cover within the next 24 hours so it must have been a bit of a frustration not to have an instant response. We are wondering if describing the chat as a “waste of time” is not a bit harsh given the information provided.

We take onboard the irritation of not perhaps having an immediate response back via the chat so we apologise for the wee indiscretion on our part here and we will of course be trying much harder in the future.
