Yes, we are aware that many other CV companies just re-hash original CVs so that changes are superficial and improvements minimal – which is one reason why senior level clients come to us from around the world to fix things and do the job properly.

Our view is that if you want the best results then you need the best CV – even if that means more work, going back to the drawing board and starting again from scratch. Yes, our approach is different, but this is deliberate. If standard professional CVs got the best results then we would write them the same way as everyone else, but they don’t, which is why we go to the extra time and effort of reworking whatever needs improving. Most clients come to us come to a specifically because their current CV is not working, and whilst each case is different, usually each client's CV is not working for numerous reasons. As such we do frequently need to make radical action to rectify matters. It does take more time, thought and effort on our behalf, but we know from experience that spending this extra time to give clients a more holistic solution is far more effective than just giving typical "tweaks" and "updates" (which usually equates to much the same thing, just in a different package).
