Good afternoon -- The engineer (Steve) who made this appointment has been consulted and has advised that upon inspection he found that the door was hanging off (as it was damaged in the wind) and the frame was rotting as well as the spindle bracket was bent. As this is a pivot point it takes a lot of strain and just to add we are unable to supply these particular brackets. Steve was reluctant to carry out the work as he could not guarantee how long a repair would last for which could also potentially lead to short term future problems, therefore he recommended a new door which was being considered by yourself anyway. There was no call out charge so the appointment didn't cost anything and there is never any obligation when providing a quote. We appreciate giving us the opportunity and obviously great you managed to get it done at a very cheap price, fingers crossed it holds out for the foreseeable future. Look, my main gripe is that this was advertised as a repair service Dawes Doors, I think you are using it purely as a mechanic to drive new door sales real trading name is Wudhu. 1) Door "hanging off", it wasn't, it had detached from runners, it literally took the fitters less than 2 minutes to re-site! and the door itself was undamaged. 2) "frame was rotting", there is an area of upright frame extending to @12 inches height from ground level that will be cut out and replaced, the overall functionality of the frame is entirely sound. 3:) "spindle bracket bent", I appreciate that this may be open to professional opinion however it was the opinion of the fitter I eventually used that this door is fit for purpose for several more years. I appreciate that this was a free call out , no obligation quote, however had I seen the Trustpilot reviews for Wudhu I wouldn't have called you.

Hi -- If we may clarify a few things regarding your further comments; Every job starts as a repair before we consider a replacement new garage door, so it is not true that we aim to just get new door sales. Unfortunately we don't cut out parts of a frame, we replace with metal. Ultimately our visit didn't cost you anything and you eventually managed to get the work done at a price you were happy with and like you say hopefully it will last for years to come. Very high charge per hourly service rate.

Very expensive after reviewing garage door required three replacement straps and wanted to charge around hundred pounds per strap.
