Regarding the screw rod snapping, this can sometimes happen if the rod encounters a knot or area of resistance within the timber. Even for experienced carpenters, this can be unavoidable due to the natural variation in wood. For this reason, we always recommend that if any resistance is felt while inserting the rod, to stop and switch to the next drill bit size up to allow a smoother fit and avoid any stress on the fixing. We understand your disappointment and appreciate that you chose a premium product with high expectations.
