The policy information is confusing, for study abroad it states that if you go away for a holiday to another country you are covered for 5 days, but does not say whether you are covered for a holiday...

Thank you for your feedback - in answer to your query you would be covered for medical expenses and your personal possessions if you travel to other parts of the USA. There would however be no additional cover for cancellation or curtailment of your trip inside the USA (for example to cover your travel and accommodation costs if you had to cancel your trip due to illness), the additional leisure trips to other countries would offer this element of cover if for example you travelled to Canada for a weekend and then returned to your place of study. In relation to additional cover for travel on your way home after finishing your year abroad - if this cover is required it would need to be referred to our underwriter to see if they are willing to extended the cover or provide an additional policy to cover this trip as we only normally cover you for your first and last journey back to the UK. To refer it to our underwriter you should email us your request as soon as you think you may need this cover and at least 7 days prior to your trip commencing - stating your policy number - where you will be travelling and the dates of travel, so that we can refer to underwriters to see if they will extend the cover. Easy website to access. If you don’t know much about travel insurance like I didn’t, it’s nice and simple to understand and goes into more detail if you require. Great prices too.
